i feel bad for y'all caught in your offices...
i got the awesomest job on the planet. the awesomest.
i get up in the morning and stretch
because i make money riding my bike. it's no stress, buddy;
ain't rocking clarks and a tie ...
you could bet that i strapped my backpack with a couple phones on, though!
i get a call, i'm in a hurry you bet! already knew that i was crucial with that, in fact...
every mile i pedal i fly, pick up a second behind now,
my delivery leaving the record behind! (wow)
i got impeccable timing when i glide fast.
i get the messages there, pigeons falling back tryna test me.
you couldn't catch me in a chevrolet, ok?
in the traffic i am the master.
cars, get out the way!
when i work i work out
a bike courier; i ride the whole town
now i get it in i dropped a few pounds
and my derriere so tight they like wow...
cause
when i work i work out
a bike courier; i ride the whole town
now if i see a light i might not slow down...
you tryna pass by its bout to go down...
ay, check it, i never hesitate
cause every day i get on my bike i'm getting heavy paper
every bill every i put in my wallet is more sweat on my collar
i don't even lift weights. i'm still getting bigger
what i reckon is
we are softening cause
all our jobs in our offices are fluff
i am certain it's pertinent
our urbanism turned us from beasts to worms
but i'm returning to
a wild state
starting small with a mild change
ain't slanging plates. i am paid to bike each day
we're enslaved to the race, we wait for a wage, getting lazier, lazier, lazier, lazier
as for me, man, my job is great.
when i work i work out
bike courier i ride the whole town
now i get it in i lost a few pounds
and my derriere so tight they say wow
cause
when i work i work out
bike courier i ride the whole town
if i see a light i might not slow down
you tryna pass by its bout to go down

i'm a beast uphills
either on fixed gears or freewheels
i can not chill, man, i speed up still
y'all gasp when i pass ya,
i'm a beast uphills.
i'm a beast uphills
sucker-free,
y'all could wheeze, i'm a freak with the skills
brother please,
y'all would freeze when you see my wheels
because mines' all sleek, y'alls all frills
ay really i am nuts with the pedaling
y'all feel silly, can't touch this, i'm steady and
i am spinning like a record, i'm a veteran
if you ain't quit then you better get better, fam
rock-solid when i'm gunning,
ha! sorry but it's funny cause you can't win
i'm locked in, you better study
props for you if you coming
bringing all you are you buddies
but you still can't block me
if you get in front
i'm on that shortcut,
sure enough there i am in front,
hopping over roots and rocks,
you could bet i'm muddy
i'm heading for the top
making moves you couldn't time
even if you had a stop-watch ready for me
i'm a beast uphills
either on fixed gear or freewheels
i can not chill, man, i speed up still
y'all gasp when i pass ya,
i'm a beast uphills.
ay, ay, uphills i am a beast
got chops when i climb like i'm cutting up some keys
so far i am flying i'm up above the trees
even with my cargo i am like, peace
with my bike i'm free
i can breathe when i sleep at night
when i dream it's of big hills
treat 'em right
if they steep, it's nice
all night, hard fight, on point
i'm a beast
eating up the hills
you with me? we could beast up these hills
in DC, NYC, in VT
we can beast up them hills
ay i ride past all the kids in classrooms
cause y'all know that i was always on that fast track in high school
fly by businessmen in buildings
i won't sit idly while their blind heads hit the ceiling
and through huge fields and pastures
filled with mice and wildflowers and small childrens' laughter
i go longer, faster till i feel tight
i kill hills like beats when i wield mics
i'm a beast up hills
either on fixed gear or freewheels
i can not chill, man, i speed up still
y'all gasp when i pass ya,
i'm a beast up hills.

it's cold.
i woke up slowly at 6 AM
i think i'm too young to grow old at heart,
and except for the fact that the snow's hold's got me by the balls
i'm alive, and that's a start
i grab a hat and a scarf to shield me from the harm of the wind
but it still hurts, and at first it's hard to begin
up in vermont i'm cold like i'm already dead
with a hunger in my guts like i'm starving
i'll make my first stop at the deli for my coffee and check
work i'm paid for is hard to regret
around the corner to the bank to deposit that shit
it's all i can do to save what i got in this bitch
my wallet is thin
but i got twenty in the back
already i am wondering what i could do with that
i'm pedaling and fumble with my phone and my bag
i hit a pothole, and i hope my spokes don't crack
it's so sad, the whole town's in a cold snap
folks can't help but be bummed out and soul-sapped
always order in food to their fortresses
staying safe with a snack and a bowl pack
if only i could slow down, home-bound, and relax
i can't do nothing at all, though, so i speed past
them stop signs, making runs, tryna get my paper up
and i can't think of nothing else but this huge trap.
we're all caught up in our houses and offices,
forgotten by god and in doubt of an armistice
disarmament's gotta come quick like a blizzard
or we'll see cities full of thousands of carcasses
i ain't proud of my faults, and i don't hide where my strength is
but i need you to come alive and help eraise this
system's fucking sick, i know why you hate it
cause you're lost between real pain and fake bliss
i'm in the same ship
let's get our domes straight
we are buried beneath way more than snow banks
i'm off course and my horse got some froze brakes
i can't even seem to support my own weight
but i am warmed by peace
that is what i need so that i could feel release
in winter, the whole world fiends from a lack of green
i'm on delivery, in need of a sack of weed.
